Bhagavad Gītā 2.19

य एनं वेत्ति हन्तारं यश्चैनं मन्यते हतम् ।

उभौ तौ न विजानीतो नायं हन्ति न हन्यते ॥ २.१९ ॥

ya enaṃ vetti hantāraṃ yaścainaṃ manyate hatam |

ubhau tau na vijānīto nāyaṃ hanti na hanyate || 2.19 ||

Ni el que piensa que este [Ser] es el que mata ni el que piensa que es el matado lo conocen. Este [Ser] no mata, ni es matado.

«Both, the one who thinks this (self) to be the killer and the one who thinks of it as the killed, do not know. This (self) does not kill; nor is it killed.» — Swami Dayānanda (amarillo, p. 39)

Anvaya (el verso en orden de prosa)

यः एनम् हन्तारम् (इति) वेत्ति, यः च एनम् हतम् मन्यते, तौ उभौ न विजानीतः । (यस्मात्) अयम् न हन्ति, (अयम्) न हन्यते ॥

El que conoce a este (como) el que mata y el que piensa que es el matado, ambos no conocen; (porque) este no mata, (y este) no es matado.
